This program grew out of plain annoyance: for years I had to rely on other people's remote access tools, and every one of them got in my way somehow. At some point writing my own turned out to be the easier path.
AnyDesk, TeamViewer, Ammyy Admin — I tried them all, and they all do the main job. But over the years the list of complaints kept growing, and no update ever made it shorter.
They are heavy and paid. Inside are dozens of features I never used once, yet you pay for all of them at once. Some have no sensible support for phones and tablets, even though connecting from a smartphone to a home computer is needed more often than the other way round. Almost every one of them leaves update services behind after installation, quietly running in the background and living a life of their own.
But something else troubles me far more: it is never clear where the history of your connections is kept, or what the vendor does with it. You hand the program access to your desktop — and are left simply taking its word for it.
I tried open-source projects too. Their trouble is different: many are never finished. One has a raw interface, another is missing half the small things you need for comfortable work, a third was abandoned midway. Something was always lacking.
And so this program appeared — exactly the one I had been missing.
Cross-platform. Windows, Android, Linux and connecting straight from a browser — whatever you happen to have at hand at the moment.
With everything that matters. Mouse and keyboard control, file transfer both ways, a shared clipboard, an address book showing who is online right now. Everything you actually use.
And nothing beyond that. No subscriptions, no ads, no background services, no features added just to make the feature list longer.

AnyRemote sends none of your personal data anywhere: no screenshots, no history of what you were doing, no file listings. Your screen image, files and clipboard travel directly between your own computers and never reach the server.
And again — do not take my word for it. On the Privacy and disclaimer page I listed every single network request the program makes and explained why each one is needed. It also tells you how to verify all of it yourself.
I genuinely welcome wishes and feature requests: if something is missing for you, it is almost certainly missing for others too. Found a bug? Write all the more — we will look into it and fix it.
